KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama)Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) is committed to reducing its operating costs by up to 30 per cent by 2016 to offer greater added-value for customers.

Its president and chief executive officer Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said the company had achieved a 12 per cent reduction in operating costs by offering a three-year free service package and increased specifications worth between RM4,500 and RM5,600.

PETALING JAYA: Proton Holdings Bhd has turned aggressive with its aim to control 30% of the B-segment market by year-end, with more offerings for the public.

Its current 24% B-segment market share would be given a boost after the national carmaker launched the new Saga SV, which saw a further RM5,000 or 12% reduction in prices, without compromising on features, and at prices starting from RM33,438, is the cheapest among its competitors.

As we know, before this Proton perdana V6 has been used as official car for government but the service of the ageing Proton car will ending. The Cabinet Minister, deputy minister and state executive councillors will be used Honda Accord 2.4 liter model while Pahang government has opted for the 2 liter Volkswagen Passats. Both models are now assembled by DRB-Hicom Bhd in Pekan.

Other state governments also slowly replaced the Perdana as Terengganu government has replace their Perdana to use Mercedes Benz E200 Kompressors in 2008.
Selangor and Perak state government using Toyota Camry while the Sabah government opted for the Volvo S80s.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 (Bernama) — The luxury car market segment in Malaysia remains healthy, said Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur managing director, Datuk Michael Ong.

He said Malaysia was a well-established passenger car market and the luxury segment was healthy as all the brands were represented here.

“We can see there is a promising future for us,” he told reporters after launching the new Rolls-Royce model, Wraith, here today.
