Proton’s rally driver, P.G Anderson clinch second overall in Brother International Rally of Whangarei in New Zealand. In the rally, Anderson set the fastest time on five of the final day’s eight special stages to finish second behind the Skoda Fabia S2000 of Chris Atkinson. Other’s Proton driver and defending champion, Alister McRae only finished fourth in the APRC class and fourth overall. The Rally of Whangarei covered a total of 16 special stages over a competitive distance of 283.28km. Proton also enjoyed three in a row in the 2WD category with defending APRC 2WD champion, Karamjit Singh top with Mike Young in another 1600cc Satria Neo and Proton’s newly signed young driver Kenneth Koh. Proton has become the first car manufacturer to win all eight major individual titles in the APRC incled the APRC driver’s title, manufacturer’s title, the Teams Trophy, the FIA Asia Cup driver’s title, the FIA Pacific Cup driver’s title, the manufacturer’s title in the FIA APRC Rally Cup for two wheel drive category; the APRC Rally Cup driver’s title and FIA APRC Junior Cup driver’s title.

Proton has revealed their new model called Proton Preve. The car that known of Proton P3-21A’s before it called as Proton Preve. It is great car by Proton this year and has been compared with Toyota Vios and Honda City. Watch the price and the specification compared with the car.

The name is sound weird. Dunno what language it use. The tagline ‘Drive it to believe it’ is cool… So, I hope I can drive to believe it… Er, any Proton people will give me test drive?? I wanna to believe it..
Malaysia national carmaker, Perodua are now ready to collaboration with DRB-Hicom Bhd, the new owner of Proton Holdings. Perodua managing director reiterated that they can collaborate but still against any kind of merge between this 2 brands.
“Since it will benefit both parties, we said okay. This was with the old Proton management. But after the recent developments, DRB-Hicom has not yet approached us.
“If there are opportunities for us to move from that suggestion, we are open for discussion.
“That would benefit both parties as well as the local automotive industry.But we are still against a merger,” he told Bernama in an interview.

DRB-Hicom Bhd’s group managing director, Datuk Seri Mohd Khamil Jamil has been appointed as the new executive chairman of Proton Holdings Bhd effective immediately. The appointment follows the completion of the acquisition of Proton by DRB-Hicom. He will replace Datuk Seri Mohd Nazmi who resigned on March 16 . Khamil also holds directorships in other companies namely Pos Malaysia Bhd, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd, Edaran Otomobil Nasional Bhd and Horsedale Development Bhd.
