Suzuki has make a press statement that they want to take Volkswagen to International court due of the VW unwillingness to sell back its 19.9% share. The official statement from Suzuki said :-

“Suzuki Motor Corporation (“Suzuki”) is today commencing arbitration proceedings in London with the ICC International Court of Arbitration, in order to compel Volkswagen AG to dispose of its Suzuki shares to Suzuki or Suzuki’s designated third party.
The arbitration proceedings follow Suzuki’s termination of its alliance with Volkswagen AG on 18 November 2011, and Volkswagen AG’s lack of response to Suzuki’s requests for the disposition of its shares to Suzuki or Suzuki’s designated third party.”

This has bring new confrontation between this 2 big carmaker after series of fighting. VW not issued any statement but VW’s has reply

“We are extremely disappointed that Suzuki has taken this step to terminate the agreement. There is no legal foundation whatsoever obliging us to surrender our shares. Volkswagen will continue to hold its stake.”

Suzuki Motor Corp will abort it alliance with Volkswagen AG after 2 years collaboration. Suzuki will stop their partnership with German automaker because they found that it wold lose autonomy. Volkswagen owns nearly 20 percent of stake in Suzuki while Suzuki only holds about 1.5 percent of Volkswagen.
Meanwhile, VOlkswagen still keen to continue to the cooperation and not sell their share in SUzuki. The cooperation taht aimed to accelerate Suzuki’s development of ecological vehicles such as hybrids, electric cars and fuel cells not work. No project has been held for this 2 carmaker. The partnership with Volkswagen came after Suzuki lost its alliance with General Motors Co., which began in 1981. GM sold a 17 percent stake in Suzuki in 2006, and its remaining 3 percent stake in 2009.
Suzuki also said it never gained the sort of access it wanted to Volkswagen’s technology.
It is good for Suzuki to terminate their cooperation if they don’t have any special benefit. Maybe they must work with Toyota or Honda.. Or maybe they don’t like to work with competitor in some country?
