Volkswagen has revealed their new Polo R WRC Street concept car in this week Wothersee festival in Austria. VW promises that the car will be faster than the Golf GTI and the production model will be launched in late 2013.
The Polo R WRC Street is inspired by the car entry at the World Rally Championship starting from 2013. The Polo R WRC sport powered by 1.6 liter TSI engine with 295hp(300PS) and the prototype tested with 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder petrol engine rated at 217 horsepower (220PS) or 10 horsepower more than the Golf GTI.
It is redesigned front bumper with larger vents and a lip spoiler, a rear diffuser, black wheel arch extension, a rear wing and larger alloy wheels.

Wow??? Is it true that Volkswagen Passat could run 1,626 miles on a single tank? It is a long journey to run with single tank fuel. This is true story from John and Helen Taylor that manage to drive the diesel powered Passat for 1626.1 miles (2,617 kilometers) through nine states in US.
It is improve the previous record held by a VW Passat 1.6 BlueMotion diesel (1,526.6) in Europe by 99.5 miles (160.1 kilometers). John and Helen has began their journey on May 3, 2012 and finished on May 5,2012. To make the car drive like daily usage, it added 120 pounds of luggage and drove only during daylight hours.

The couple didn’t drive more than 14 hours a day. The Passat TDI’s 2.0 liter turbo diesel could produce 140 horsepower and 236 pound feet of torque and with a manual transmission returns an EPA estimated fuel economy rating of 43 mpg (5.5lt/100 km) on the highway. On their journey they achieved an average fuel economy of 84.1 mpg.
The Taylors is not normal driving couple. The pair has break 90 world fuel economy and vehicle related records from their drives but the record show how fuel efficiency of the car. I’ll get a Passat if I’ve become richer and there’s many money not being used in my account. Hehehe

Volswagen will be make two more crossover model based on the Polo and Up! city car.
A Volkswagen spokesperson would not confirm the models on the report, but said, ”SUVs are very interesting. Our modular production system allows us further spinoffs. We haven’t made a decision yet.”
Volkswagen has already show a couple of crossover-ish concept of the Up! including the Buggy Up! study at last year’s Frankfurt Show and the Winter Up! and X Up! at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

Okay, not related for me coz I’m not in Europe but still good for my reader ( dunno if there’s a Europe reader for this blog). Volkswagen Polo Match model has updated with the launch of the Polo R Line. On the interior is a set of ‘Kyalami’ trimmed sport seat, aluminum-capped pedals, R Line headrests with an ‘R’ logo and an R Line badged steering wheel. On the exterior the R is full with a black gloss radiator grille, 16 inch ‘Mallory’ alloy wheels, deeper side sills, tinted rear windors, standard fog lights and more aggressive front and rear bumpers.
The car powered by 1.2 liter petrol, mated to 6 speed manual gearbox. The car could accelerate 0-62 mph in 9.7 seconds with top speed 118mph. The fuel economy is at 53.3mpg with city and highway combine. The standard equipment such as R Line offers up automatic air conditioning (wow! auto aircond, must be cool), multi device interface with a radio/CD player with six speaker, a trip computer, heated rear-view mirrors, height adjustable front seat. The price for R Line starts at $20,000 (Euro only)
