Kia lose legal battle to use their new rear-wheel drive flagship saloon, the Quoris with a Chinese brand, Qoros.
The Korean carmaker introduced the full-size luxury sedan in its home market as the K9 but announced to be named Quoris in Europe derived from the English words ‘Core’ and ‘Quality’.
But there’s a problem because Shanghai-based Qoros Automobile Co, believed that the name was too close to its own which it had already trademark in China, US, EU and other regions around the world.
Qoros took Kia in Germany court and has been granted the automaker’s motion for a preliminary injuction against the South Korean company and the use of the Quoris name in the European Union.
