PETALING JAYA: Nasim Sdn Bhd, the distributor of Peugeot in Malaysia, will be exporting the Peugeot 408 to New Zealand and Singapore.
“We have also begun to export the 408 to Australia,” said Nasim chief operating officer Datuk Samson Anand George in a statement.
Nasim said the 408 has made waves in the European C-segment of the market with over 1,300 units sold in Malaysia since its launch in May 2012.
“In addition, over 1,000 units of the 408, which is assembled at Naza Automotive Manufacturing in Gurun, Kedah, have been exported to neighbouring markets in the region such as Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore,” he said.
The 408 Turbo is priced at RM128,888 while the 408 2.0 is priced at RM109,888. Both prices are on-the-road with insurance.
Fitted with a six-speed auto adaptive transmission with Triptronic and a sport mode, the 408 Turbo has the capability of accelerating from 0-100 kph in 9.2 seconds and a top speed of 215 kph.
“The 408 offers unrivalled performance, space, elegance and safety with a high-level of comfort and premium quality,” Samson said.
The car company was offering buyers of the Peugeot 408 five years of free service.
“Under the free service campaign, Nasim will cover the cost for parts – except for wear and tear items – and labour for regular scheduled maintenance for a five year period.”
The campaign began on May 6 and ends on May 31.
