1. Start-Stop System
- I dunno whether it effect much but the technology shuts off the gas engine when car is stopped. When the car move again, the car will used energy stored in the battery from the regenerative brakes to work the electric starter ans start engine. Oo before I’m forget, it is available on hybrid or electric car only.
2. Variable Displacement/Active Cylinder Deactivation
- It is bit technical and I dunno what this technology (that’s why I’m write, to learn about it..). A cylinder deactivation system that deactivates half the cylinder in its V8 and V12 engines (okay, my current car MyVi won’t have this technology).It will turning them into more frugal 4 or 6 cylinder engines.
3. Direct injection
- Okay, I’m noob. I though the direct injection will cause more gas to use. But direct injection use to injected right into the cylinder chamber of each cylinder in the engine and mixing better with the air and improving combustion.
4. Smart Alternator
- Smart alternator function is to chooses the best time to recharge the car’s battery. It could set the time to charge battery and save the power used.
5. Electric Power Steering
- Nowaday, many carmaker switch their conventional hydraulic steering systems to electric power steering (dunno if there’s a car stil using hydraulic steering system.. anybody know?). It could save fuel by not being a drag on the engine at all times.
6. Eco Button
- Eco button will alters the Drive-by-Wire throttle system response curve in the range. ( Okay I’m not really understand about this technology).
7. Low Rolling Resistance Tires
- More companies including low rolling resistance tires on their vehicles. The low rolling resistance tires minimize energy wasted from friction between the tires and the road. Only used on hybrids.

Okay, most of the technology is not really work on me cause it features at expensive vehicle. How can save if the car is expensive? Hope, it will include in medium cost car like Perodua MyVi. Maybe in my dream..
Oo, yeah.. How about the device that can save fuel?? Is it really useful?
We’ve known that it is dangerous using cellphones while driving. One company has introduced their device that block cell usage in a car while it is in motion called CellCONTROL. The company, Scosche insists that the device is compatible and easy to use and work for any car sold in the U.S in 1996 or later was made with an OBD-II interface (dunno what this interface really). It will work with more than 1,200 different phones model. Once installed, drivers only can access their phone via bluetooth headset. Email, SMS will be block untill the wheels stop spinning.
The device look cool but I don’t know if it can get market.. Who want this?

Touchscreen has become a phenomenon in technology. There’s an idea to put it into your car windows. Imagine while you driving, your children can play a games or chatting using the windows. Isn’t it cool? It is possible if the Students of FutureLab at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Israel finished the assignment from GM’s. Yeah.
It will make living in car more interesting…

There’s a researcher from the University of Stuggart, German research center and University of DUisburg-Esse to crea ted an automative steering wheel that uses touch screen to enable friver to control things such as the radio or navigate map. Using the technolgy there’s many function at dashboard could be transfereed to the steering. The steering wheel is made by 11 milimeter thick acrylic that ring by infrared LEDs. The screen will be attach by infrared camera to detect reflection when screen is touched. Driver don’t need to take their hands off the steering while doing gestures. The technology also could designed to check road condition and traffic for driver to alert on the road. The prototype was presented at the COnference on Human Factors in Computing System and there’s automotive companies interest with the system.

Great innovation. Maybe next 10 years there no steering in our car and no more function in dashboard. Let’s wait and see.
