There’s study at Union of Concerned Scientist that average plug-in cars are less polluting than gasoline-powered vehicles in the US (okay, this is not really surprise_. But the greenhouse gases emitted from electic vehicles could pollute more than hybrid. The study centers on a heated discussion in auto circles. Many automakers referred electric vehicles as ‘zero emissions’ which misleading consumer because most plug-in drivers charge their cars from electricity generated by burning coal or natural gas. The Union of Concerned Scientist, clarify matters by doing a lifecycle analysis of greenhouse gas emissions that includes energy inputs from start to finish, not only during drive time.
It finds that charging an all-electric car equivalent to a car with a mileage rating between 31 miles per gallon to 40 mpg. Electric vehicles charged in areas with cleaner sources of electricity yields the equivalent of over 50 miles per gallon, better than the most fuel-efficient gasoline or diesel cars today. Driver can also lower their electric charging costs by taking advantage of off-peak rates or EV-specific rates.
The Union of Concerned Scientist analysis echoes previous studies in finding that on average, plug-in electric cars are less polluting than gasoline cars and cut oil consumption. It also underscores how fuel efficiency through hybrids or other efficient engine technologies can achieve significant gasoline reductions.
The study notes that projected increases in solar and wind on the grid means that the global warming emissions from an electric vehicle in those areas will decrease over time.

General Motor research lab has been explosive caused a small fire.There’s five people injured in the accident. The incident happend from a battery under extreme testing that exploded the fire that was extinguished. Form Wall Street Journal, it said that the lithium ion battery (that being used in EV ) being tested was being developed for a new line of all electric cars (as I said before.. It used for EV) and was made by A123 Systems Inc (this is not good media publicity for A123 System).
Before this, The Fisker Karma also failed during a Consumer Reports driving test because of a battery problem taht also using A123.

It will give bad reputation not just for battery maker but also Electric car. Can this problem solved?
Electric car has been promote to save environment but there’s many bad publicity about the electric car. The bad news will give bad reputation to consumer. Edmunds.com expect pure electric cars and plug in hybrid to make up only 1.5 percent of the U.S Market in 2017. Toyota has sell a plugin Prius and EVs from HOnda, Ford, Fiat and BMW will join the fray along with start ups Tesla and Coda Automotive.
Maybe some of you know that electric cars aren’t a new concept. Founder of Ford, Henry Foud has bought 2 electric cars for his wife, Clara in early 1900s that could drive 50 miles and top speed is 35 mph. After more than 100 years, the EVs still are not worked. EV industri struggles have vindicated more deliberate approach.
