Volkswagen has revealed their new Polo R WRC Street concept car in this week Wothersee festival in Austria. VW promises that the car will be faster than the Golf GTI and the production model will be launched in late 2013.
The Polo R WRC Street is inspired by the car entry at the World Rally Championship starting from 2013. The Polo R WRC sport powered by 1.6 liter TSI engine with 295hp(300PS) and the prototype tested with 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder petrol engine rated at 217 horsepower (220PS) or 10 horsepower more than the Golf GTI.
It is redesigned front bumper with larger vents and a lip spoiler, a rear diffuser, black wheel arch extension, a rear wing and larger alloy wheels.

Volswagen will be make two more crossover model based on the Polo and Up! city car.
A Volkswagen spokesperson would not confirm the models on the report, but said, ”SUVs are very interesting. Our modular production system allows us further spinoffs. We haven’t made a decision yet.”
Volkswagen has already show a couple of crossover-ish concept of the Up! including the Buggy Up! study at last year’s Frankfurt Show and the Winter Up! and X Up! at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

ABT, a German tuning firm make some adjustment to Volkswagen’s T5 series of van. It is offers an engine kit for all diesel versions of the T5 starting with the 83hp (84PS) engine that’s bumped to 109hp(110PS) and continues with the 101hp(102PS) unit that gets a nudge to 129hp(130PS) and 2.0 liter TDI with 138hp(140PS) that’s boosted to 168hp(170PS). On the gasoline engine front, the stock 201hp (204PS) 2.0-liter TSI now makes 236hp (240PS) allowing the 5.5-meter long van to accelerate from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in 9.4 seconds.
The German company complements the power upgrades with a sports suspension kit and 19-inch alloy wheels shod in performance tires, while also offering an aerodynamics package that consists of a front spoiler in combination with the front grille, side skirts, a rear apron, and a roof spoiler plus a sports exhaust system with quad tailpipes.

Wow, Not very familiar of Volkswagen Up. The Volkswagen Up has won this year’s World Car of the Year Award (confuse, this year or last year??). The VW hatchback beat BMW 3 Series and Porsche 911. The award was announced at the New York motor show. The jurors concluded that the UP is the car that expect from citycar segment.
Other winners is ‘ Land Rover’s Range Rover Evoque’ that win the World Car Design of the Year, Porsche 911 World Performance Car of the Year and the Mercedes Benz 250 CDI Blueefficiency World Green Car of the Year. The World Car of the Year awards voted by 64 journalists from 25 countries that been running for 8 years. Past winner include the Nissan Leaf, Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Golf and Mazda 2.
