‘WWW’ is acronym of world wide web and there’s high possibility many people would like to get the plat. The booking will starts on April 30 and Transport Minister get many enquiries and telephone calls regarding the ‘WWW’ registration number. The highest bid for a vehicle registration number in Malaysia so far was MCA1, bought for 300,100 ringgit (US$99,500) in 2010, surpassing a previous record of 242,000 ringgit for the Terengganu-issued TAY1. Minister of Transportation, Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said bookings for the “WWW” registration number could be made at the Federal Territory’s Road Transport Department in the capital.
He said there were four registration number categories – premium, attractive, popular and running.Kong said the department collected an average of 1.7 million ringgit annually from sales of registration numbers.
Last year, it collected more than RM1.8mil and the year before, it managed to get 1.6 million ringgit.
